Worship

Discover why we worship God the way we do

Worship must be intentional

In the words of Gangai Victor, "If Jesus is not the focus, the worship is just bogus."

We are firm believers in this at City Point.

Each Sunday, our worship aims to be Spirit-led and Jesus-focused and engages the senses through raised volume and bright lights.

Why the raised volume?

In Scripture, there are numerous references to praising God with musical noises. Specifically, loud noises.

Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp! Praise him with sounding cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals! Psalm 150:3&5

In Biblical times, people used trumpets, lutes, and harps to worship. Today we utilize guitars, basses, keyboards, and drums to achieve sonorous praise. Our certified audio engineers work each Sunday to create a balance amongst the various instruments and voices that is both resonating and pleasant.

What's up with the lights?

Now this one is pretty cool.

The idea to use artistic, colorful lighting to enhance a worship experience didn't actually originate in the 20th century. It actually originated in seventh and eighth century Christian churches.

European cathedrals would place stained-glass windows in specific arrangements to have certain colors and shades shine through during their worship at different times of day.

There was nothing spiritual or special about the beams of colored light, they simply added another layer to impact the senses and enhance their times of worship.

Just as the cathedrals used the effects of stained-glass windows to amplify their worship experience, we use LED lights to amplify the worship experience in our services.

Meet our Worship Minister

Isaac became the Worship Minister in 2016 and has been a part of leading worship since 2010. Currently, he works from his home studio composing music for content creators and mixing local bands.

[City Point Church] is the church my family has been waiting to find. Worship through music is outstanding. The sermons are always great regardless of who is giving them. And they are very family oriented in that there is something here for people of all ages and always ways to engage with Christ.
